Handcrafted paper theatre kits rooted in the legends of the African diaspora — built to be assembled, treasured, and passed down.
Histoires à découper, assembler et rêver
✦ Protected Innovation
The Fibres & Fables paper theatre system — its structure, layering mechanism, and interchangeable story sheet rails — is a patented design. Every element was conceived, tested, and filed by Ravenn-Isis, the sole creator and owner.
This is not a craft kit. It is an original, protected cultural product.
Brand identity
The visual identity of Fibres & Fables draws from the aesthetic of a literary publishing house — black, white, and a single accent colour. Burgundy was chosen for its depth and warmth; it echoes the hand-painted corrugated roofs of Réunion Island's Creole houses that appear in the first story. The result is a brand that feels serious, culturally rooted, and quietly luxurious — distinct from anything in the paper craft space.

The project
Fibres & Fables was born from a simple belief: the stories of the African diaspora deserve to be held, not just heard. Each kit is designed and handcrafted by Ravenn-Isis, a creator from Réunion Island, and carries a piece of that world with it — its folklore, its colours, its soul.
The first collection, Transformations, opens with L'envol de Maïa et Silan — a reimagined legend of the paille-en-queue bird, told through three layered paper scenes, a hand-painted corrugated roof, and a starlit LED sky.
Every element is cut, assembled and finished by hand. The process behind each theatre is patented.
This is not just a craft kit. It is an experience of beauty, story and cultural transmission — designed for families, educators and curious souls alike.

The collection
Maïa the mermaid & Silan the deer
A love story rooted in the legend of the paille-en-queue bird. When a mermaid and a mountain deer cannot choose between land and sea, a spirit grants them a third way — wings.
Kaya the leopard
A young leopard leaves home despite her fear, discovers her own strength — and when cornered by hunters, leaps into the night sky. She returns wearing the stars as spots.
Tozi the healer & Chimalli her son
A boy who lost his mother and forgot what she loved. A memory that brings him back to her secret garden. And the butterflies — wings of sunrise — that tell him she never truly left.
